Blackfish are delighted to bring you Abby's March post!
If you missed her first blog, Abby is a competitive all round swimmer who trains in our swimwear. She won an impressive gold medal in the Butterfly at the ASA Nationals last summer. This year so far has been very successful, March has been a little quieter but I don't think anyone can continue at that pace without need for a pause!
Hi It’s Abby
It’s Friday 31st March and we have just broken up from school for Easter so I thought that now would be a good time to write my March blog! I have only had one competition this month in Sheffield, the Sheffield Premier Meet. My training has been hard this month as we are working up to the Midlands. Our head coach has been doing lots of sprint sets so we can get ready for the Midlands. My competition last weekend didn’t go too well. I didn’t pb in any of my races. I swam 3 events; 50 fly, 100 fly and 50 back. They all felt good whilst I was racing them but then when I saw the times it wasn’t too good! But, I just put it down to the competition being my first long course competition of the year! So, recently my coach has introduced a new test that we are doing where you have to record your times for certain distances that we sprint in training you then have to write them on the sheet and hope to improve each time you do it! My next will be at the end of April, I will be telling you how my competition at Sheffield goes and about how Midlands is getting closer!
