Blackfish are delighted to bring you Abby's May post!

If you missed her first blog, Abby is a competitive all round swimmer who trains in our swimwear. She won an impressive gold medal in the Butterfly at the ASA Nationals last summer. This year so far has been very successful and April and May have been incredibly busy!

Hi It's Abby!

This month has been jam packed. Training continues as always and I had a competition in Sheffield on 8th/9th of April that went quite well. Some races were good and others not so good. Either way I just keep training and working towards the next meet. As well as training I've been revising over the whole of the Easter break and went on my first first Duke of Edinburgh trial expedition last weekend. It was an overnight camp and then an 11mile hike that took us 6 hours! I was absolutely exhausted afterwards. Sometime fitness can be very specific to the sport you do - I guess swimmers can really be like fish out of water!

The next competition I'm working towards is the Nova Centurion Meet on 13th/14th May and then the Midland Championships on 27th/28th/29th of May. So this month is a busy month for training but I try and have the odd weekend away with my family, and every now and then a shopping trip, to help keep it all in perspective!
